Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes follow periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
